Write a Resume for a Business Executive with Style

business executive with 300x202 Write a Resume for a Business Executive with StyleWhen composing your business executive resume, there are a lot of do’s and don’ts that you need to know. It is easy to fall into some of the pitfalls of bad resume writing, such as listing irrelevant information, short-selling yourself on the profile section, and making bad formatting choices. So take these resume writing tips to get off on a good start:

  • Define a clear target. Always know the mission statement of the company to which you are applying and try to align your goals with theirs.
  • Brand Yourself: You can stand out on the resume by focusing on the specific tasks in which you have had great success. Don’t try to be a generalist who is good at everything; instead, take on a “brand” based on your specialties.
  • Details successes and challenges you have faced. You want to make it clear that you have accomplished a great deal in your career already, so don’t be shy when it comes to tooting your own horn in that case.
  • Don’t overcrowd it: Leave plenty of space on the page. Just because you can cram 2000 words onto a page in small type, single spaced, doesn’t mean you should. Think of your resume as a work of art that should be as pleasant to look at as it is informative to read.
