Women’s Issues in any Executive Program in International Business

executive program in international business Women’s Issues in any Executive Program in International BusinessInternational business is a realm that women have only in recent decades become familiar with, and while most schools of business maintain that men and women are treated the same and have the same expectations held for them, there are certain issues that women have to deal with that are simply different from men’s.

Recent studies have shown without a doubt that women face a great deal of blocks when it comes to participating in negotiations. Although sexism is unintentional in most cases, it has been proven that assertive negotiation behavior is penalized at three times the rate in women that it is in men.

Studies such as this one prove that all MBA programs should address these issues. It is a mistake to gloss over the facts and pretend that all issues are the same for women and men. Women need the extra support required to help them overcome gender bias in the business world, no matter how “touch” or businesslike they are. Does your university offer special courses or a support community for women? It’s an important question!
