When it Comes to Your Fleet, Exercise Excellent Executive Business Maintenance
As executives, we have to maintain our businesses, our finances, and our customer relations. We have to maintain good relationships with clientele as well as other businesses. We also have to maintain our offices and computer networks. To do so, we employ a wide variety of professions who make sure that everything from customer relationships to cubicle wastebaskets are kept in top running order. But one thing we often neglect is our fleet. Executives depend on their company cars, so these tools must be kept in top running order. There should be no “bad car” that every executive hopes he or she does not get. All vehicles must be pristine, presentable, and powerful.
So, if you have a company car and notice any of these warning signs, it is handy to know what the problem could be. A quick trip to an auto shop with the knowledge that your problem may be bigger than it seems, could save the company lots of trouble and expense in the long run. For your edification, then, here are some common car sounds and the problems they may indicate.
- Squeaky brakes: could be dirt in the lining of the break pads. A moderate severity problem.
- Grinding brakes: might be worn out brake pads or shoes. This is something requiring immediate attention.
- Metal-on-metal sound when you come to a stop: worn out brake pads again. This is crucial to take care of immediately.
- Air conditioner makes a low noise: the compressor could be worn. This is not a safety issue, but should be looked as as soon as possible.
- Whining tires when turning: this might indicate bad wheel bearings. A crucial problem to get fixed immediately.
- Squeeling tires on corners: could be low air in tires. You can take care of this problem yourself at a local gas station, or return vehicle to the company shop for a fill-up.
Excellent maintenance of your business fleet will keep your company running smoothly and safely, so do not neglect this important aspect of any executive business.
