What is Demographic Segmentation? | Definition and Overview

Demographic Segmentation : The division of consumers into groups based on selected demographics. This is done so that different groups can be approached, targeted, and advertised to different. For example, an advertiser would target a group with an older demographic differently than a group with a younger demographic.
