Time Management Advice From Christian Business Executives

christian business executives 241x300 Time Management Advice From Christian Business ExecutivesChristianity has brought us not only the story of Jesus and his great works, but also a tradition of self-stewardship. This means taking responsibility for our work and striving to do the best we can in the time allotted. This is why Christians executives often succeed. Their interest in time management runs deep. Jesus himself practices good time management in order to minister to those he felt most deserving. In Mark 1:35-38, he actually flees from his place of prayer because it has been found out by his disciples. He needed that time alone with God and would not let others, even his most faithful followers, interrupt it. Jesus taught some of the basics of prioritizing and time management through his actions, and one of those is how to avoid procrastination. So let’s take a look at some anti-procrastination tips that Jesus exemplified in his life:

  • Break a large task into smaller sections
  • Start with the most difficult part of a task first IF that will help you succeed.
  • Begin with the simplest section of the activity first IF THAT will help you succeed.
  • Reward yourself for each small success.
  • If you get stuck on a section of your work, move on to another section, then return to it with fresh eyes.
  • Use your downtime. If a meeting is cancelled or you arrive early for work, use that time to accomplish something else and get ahead.
