Small Business seminars can be wonderful reasons to get out of town and go on a business trip. They offer wonderful networking opportunities as well as courses on just about every small business topic you can think of. One thing many small business owners are looking for is help with their websites. This help sometimes means meeting web designers who can create the site in the first place, and other times it means getting advice on ways to draw more traffic to the site.
As far as search engine optimization, one method often discussed in these seminars—because it is relatively easy to teach and implement—is the concept of distributing press releases.
A press release distributed online should not be a puff piece, although it does have certain requirements upon it as to wording. Let’s look at some common advice about press releases that is frequently given in small business seminars:
- Anchor text should be rich in keywords and links to your site
- Sites such as PRLog and PRWeb offer opportunities to submit press releases
- Once your press release is posted, it may soon be linked to by various news agencies, so include plenty of site links
This is just a brief overview of how to use press releases. For more information, attend a small business seminar.
