Business ethics: The Power of Giving and Its Impact To Your Business

Business ethics The Power of Giving and Its Impact To Your Business Business ethics: The Power of Giving and Its Impact To Your Business“One of the best ways to ever build success in business is to pass it forward to others. Many people don’t understand the power of giving and what impact that makes with your business. The more you are involved in philanthropic and tithing then the better your business will become.
First of all it will help you to understand that you don’t have to be a miser with your money. When you become a miser with your money then it creates a scarcity mentality and you hold money back from spending it on things that will help your business to grow. You are more willing to cut away parts of your business instead of adding the right parts to your business.

It also inspires you to create more avenues of wealth that you did not have before and that will allow you to be more proactive and financially more lucrative in the end. If you protect your assets then you might protect yourself out of your future success. A strong business is based on evolving and giving of what you have so others can do the same.

This principle is special because as you give so shall you receive from others in your industries, you will find people more willing to network with you, and bounce ideas off of you because they respect the value that you have to offer and admire it. There is nothing wrong for you to do the same and find those that have the same mindset. You will be amazed at how easy it is to levitate to those that have similar beliefs.

This is also the type of lifestyle that will define people. I have seen a lot of stories lately on life and death. I found it kind of spooky, but at the same time it has allowed for me to think about my own purpose and meaning.

There will come a day when you will die and those that know of you will die too. You will be nothing but a memory. When you get closer and closer it will be evident to ask yourself what difference did I make if any?

Decide how you want your life to be remembered and what you want people to know you for in the history books. Your actions will not be forgotten, no matter how much money you made. Decide now how you will share the talents you have been blessed with.

Ethics Training: Top Tips in Helping Another Woman

admin | Friday, July 31st, 2009 | No Comments »
Ethics Training Top Tips in Helping Another Woman Ethics Training: Top Tips in Helping Another Woman“I was recently reading an article about a Nancy Woodhull, the late USA Today editor. Besides at one time being one of the most powerful women in publishing, she was noted for the way she facilitated the success of other women. When she was the helm of one of the country’s largest papers, she remarked it was her duty to “do something to help another women every day”.
That phrase resonated with me at a deep level. I was struck by how much I also believed it, but also by its sheer simplicity. Since hearing it, I thought about the myriad ways we already help each other and the many ways that I could be doing more. The clients I work with often find that some form of conscious effort to help others often makes them feel better. Essentially, when giving, they are also receiving. The process of actively reaching out to other women gives them a new perspective and a feeling of being part of a community much larger than just the worlds of their office and home.

Putting this mantra into practice, I once invited a new colleague to lunch to help her feel more welcome to the organization. While we both enjoyed our time together; the tables turned. I found out so much more about our competitors and how they viewed our company – a topic of interest to the marketing team at the time. In the end I realized in my effort to “help another woman” I was the one who had actually been helped. So, what can you do today to help another woman?

Top Tips for Helping Another Woman

1. If you work in a male-dominated company, inquire how they actively recruit more women. Mentioning that diversity is one of the key tenets of business awards like “Investors in People” is a good incentive for otherwise intractable employers.

2. Mentor a new female employee to show them how you have managed. Just reminding them with your presence that women DO belong is often great encouragement. Mentoring a new recruit is also a great ego boost to remind you of how much you have accomplished.

3. If you have a choice, patronize women-owned businesses. More women are leaving full-time employment to start up their own businesses each year, so the choice is easier than before. If you unsure who owns the business, ask! If it is a partnership, find out how many of the partners are women. This works from law firms to nanny agencies.

4. Donate time or money to charitable causes that support women. Women’s organizations are among the most under-funded of charities, receiving far less in donations than causes related to children, specific diseases, animals and special interest groups.

Dr. Suzanne Doyle-Morris of Doyle Morris Coaching helps companies retain and develop their valuable, well-trained female talent. Revealing Your Lack of Ethics and Ultimately Lack of Business

admin | Monday, July 6th, 2009 | No Comments »
Revealing Your Lack of Ethics and Ultimately Lack of BusinessEvery Monday night a group of 7 committed individuals who are considered to be business coaches, executive coaches and business consultants meet via teleconferencing to mastermind. During these 90 minute masterminding sessions, weekly successes and missed opportunities are shared. We learn so much from each other. For reinventing the wheel is truly a waste of time.
The mental energy and output from this masterminding process is incredible, but the email threads that are shared provided even greater opportunity for reflection and learning. One of the coaches revealed a conversation that he had with another business coach who belonged to a local chapter of a national coaching association.

During their conversation, the other coach made the statement that “”executive or business coaches who coach other business or executive coaches were preying on their own by taking advantage of all the problems currently existing within the business coaching industry.”"

Everyone within this mastermind group has head similar statements before, but my enlightened colleague took this opportunity to truly reveal the ethics of this coach. So he replied, “”Gee, you make that sound like a piranha preying on their young.”" The other coach responded, “”Well isn’t it?”"

My colleague continued with “”I guess that assumes that we either prey on our own if we work with coaches, or, instead we prey on our other clients, and the latter must be OK. And does that mean that coaches just prey on the weak?”"

The coach who started the conversation staggered backward, stammered a bit and said, “”Well no. I do help my clients.”" At this moment, my coaching friend then asked the other coach, “”Does that mean that you are implying that I don’t help mine?”" Her response was, “”Of course not. Who are your clients?”"

Before my friend answered this question, he responded with a question, “”You said that you help your clients. Tell me, what kind of measurable differences do you provide to your clients.”" Again, she heed and hawed a bit, and answered, “”Well…….ummm……most of them get better.”" He quickly followed with “”How much better?”"

The coach responded with “”I have so many different clients that I really have no idea.”"

Then my friend quietly concluded with “Well, let’s see I prey on a few small business clients who typically double their business in 3-4 weeks…..but of course I also have a few of my young that I prey on…coaches I mean. Would you say that preying on someone might have a different perspective depending on whether you are helping them to secure measurable results or not?”"

The other coach was stunned and walked away because she had no answer.

Given that research revealed less than 5% of all coaches make over $100,000 a year, my colleague’s niche market of helping other coaches is valid. What also makes this coach different as well as the other 6 coaches in this mastermind group is that everyone can share actual measurable results. For their ethics and values are all about delivering a positive return on investment for their coaching services. Without such core values, why would anyone hire any of us?

The simple reason is that most coaches fail to earn more than $100,000, fail to have more than 20 clients during the course of their practice is because they cannot consistently deliver measurable results. This failure is truly one of ethics and core values. So the final question is: Are your ethics as a business coach centered around just helping people or securing measurable and sustainable results?

Leanne Hoagland-Smith, M.S. is a business coach and executive coach with offices in Indianapolis and near Chicago. She writes, speaks and coaches people in businesses to quickly double or triple results through the creation of an executable strategic plan along with the necessary leadership skills “”to pull it off.”"

PR Tips: Learning How to Write News Popping Online Press Releases

admin | Sunday, September 21st, 2008 | No Comments »
PR Tips: Learning How to Write News Popping Online Press ReleasesAnother great source of gaining targeted views to your website is through an online press release. They are an extremely powerful way of generating quality backlinks to your website. Press releases are nothing more than a newsworthy story or event. If a company or service happens to be changing or adding new features to their existing portfolios, a news article can be written about the sudden changes. You can write about your business of certain aspects of it and submit too many different press release services so that your article can be submitting to massive amounts of sites.
You can either write your very own online press release or you can have it written for you. I will show you an outline that will help make your press release pop:

The first thing you will see is a release description. Basically stating when the press release should be published. Most cases you will see “FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE” and if you want it to be published after a specific date you write “FOR RELEASE AFTER (DATE)”. Most press releases seem to be read during the weekend hours, so your best chance for exposure can fall between Friday and Sunday.

Contact information. In this section you want to add as much information as possible so you can allow people to contact you about your online press release. Your name, phone number, email address, address and anything extra that you think will be important. Maybe your title or position of the company.

Next is the Headline. The headline is very important. It MUST be an attention grabbing headline that makes the reader want to read your article. No generic boring headline will make it for you; you have to put a lot of thought into this process. You don’t want a headline like “Learn How I Make Money Online”, it should be something like “I Make Money Online In The Comfort Of My 130 Foot Yacht”. That is a bad example but it is more eye catching.

Next should be a short summary. Usually a couple sentences opening up and being a quick tease to the reader, making them want to read more of your online press release. Don’t go too into detail about your press release, just add a few pieces enticing the reader. Keep it short and try not to over deliver.

Here comes the body. The body is another one of the most important elements of your online press release. You want to convey a message that will keep the reader interested. If you press release is about making money try not to start off the body with ways of making money. Talk about some of the benefits of making money online. Try not to advertise the business, work around it. Many people start their press releases with right out in the front advertising. Be kind and make it newsworthy. You will see more benefits to yourself it is a newsworthy article versus an advertisement. A great place to get examples and view others work is to go to PRWeb.com. They are the most respected and well known PR sites out there. Take a moment to view others experts and see what you have to do to explode your online press release skills.

The next section you will add an about section. Here is where you can talk about the company or service. How it got started, what they do too help, or any factual uplifting elements of your company are great things to start off with. Once you are finished with your release you can now end it by adding “####” to allow the press to know your article is finished and that everything you choose to add after will not be published.

This is the basic layout that will help you generate massive amounts of backlinks if done correctly. Remember in most cases you can add direct URL’s in the body but you can’t add HTML to anchor the links with text. After you can add related links under your online press release and this is where you are allowed to add keyword text to anchor your URL. Always remember that your release must be newsworthy.
