Lately, business with Mexico has been booming, so if you are an international executive, you’ll want to know as much as possible about the details of Mexican culture and etiquette. Here are a few pointers:

  • Shake hands with men, but bow to women when introduced.
  • Mexicans stand very close together when they talk. Don’t offend them by appearing uncomfortable with this.
  • Never stand with your hands on your hips. This will indicate you are angry.
  • You are expected to be punctual, but your Mexican counterpart may be a half-hour late or more.
