Improve Your Performance with an Executive Business Forum

executive business forum 300x216 Improve Your Performance with an Executive Business ForumExecutive business forums are the latest and greatest type of “business club” available today online. In these online forums, executives can share advice, share gripes, and ask one another questions as to the best, most profitable, or most ethical business practices in any given situation. Financial managers, for instance, can go to online forums to question other financial managers about specific questions pertaining to tax shelters, recertification, or changing corporate law. Forum such as these are wonderful and time-efficient ways for professionals to “get together” to improve their work.

Creative professionals, especially, can utilize such forums to ensure that their business acumen is on a par with their artistic ability. One owner of a greeting card business recently shared her five tips for success in an online forum, and other members commented on the efficacy of these tips for a wide variety of creative businesses:

  • Evaluate yourself and know your strengths and weaknesses. Improve your weaknesses in whatever way is necessary.
  • Have a marketing mentor. Being good at your work isn’t enough. You need to know how to sell it.
  • Work during your most productive time. If you own your own business, you have the luxury to utilize your mornings or, if you are a night owl, to stay up until the crack of dawn.
  • Keep active in professional development programs. Continually improve yourself.
  • Take risks and don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Fear of failure is worse than failure itself!
