How to Buy Executive Business Suits
It is imperative for any executive that he look and feel his best when making a high-powered business deal. This is why buying the perfect custom-made business suit is so important. To purchase the ideal executive suit, follow these six steps:
- Decide if you prefer two-button or three or four button single breasted styles. Stay away from double breasted suits in today’s fashion climate, unless you are a thin man. Double breasted suits do add bulk and should be worn buttoned up at all times.
- You will want to select an ideal fabric. Navy blue is quite common and it is said that every man should have a navy suit. However, tan, grey, black and camel are also acceptable.
- Scrunch the fabric in your hand to ensure that it bounces back without wrinkling.
- Decide on the pants style you prefer. Pleats are more dressy, while flat-front pants are more slimming. Cuffed legs are formal, whereas uncuffed legs tend to elongate the look.
- When the jacket is sewn, test it for fit. The shoulders should be lightly padded and the sleeves should end 5 inches above your thumb’s tip.
- When the pants are sewn, ensure that they sit on the waist, not the hips and that they slightly drape over the tops of your shoes. Your socks should not show.
