Gather Your Small Business Info and Answer These Leadership Questions

small business info 200x300 Gather Your Small Business Info and Answer These Leadership QuestionsIt’s the end of January 2010 and time to take stock of last year. Gather all the info you have in order to do your taxes and assess your company’s fiscal performance. Then ask yourself these questions to assess how well you have performed as a leader and how well prepared you are for 2010:

  • What matters the most? This question has no right or wrong answer, but is still extremely important for you as a leader. Do you know where your priorities lie?
  • Can you cite one setback that you could turn into opportunity? The secret of great business management is in seeing everything as an opportunity. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, they say. Can you spot any opportunities disguised as setbacks in your business today?
  • What do your employees need most right now? Do they need inspiration? Or will only financial rewards influence their performance? Sometimes all they need is to be told how much they are appreciated, so pay attention to your employees and be sure to ask yourself each day what they need.

So much is involved in small business leadership that it is important to stop each year, assess your situation, gather all your information, and ask yourself the questions that can lead to a better year.
