Business Executive Positions Can Be Misleading

business executive positions 300x300 Business Executive Positions Can Be MisleadingWhen you are in business, your position, or title, in the company is important. But some folks take titles too seriously. Some employees take pains to get appointed with fancy sounding titles, thinking that this will get people to “listen to them” more. Not so. Experience and being good at your job are the only things that will gain you real respect among your coworkers. A fancy title that is undeserved will certainly not impress anyone, and won’t gain you more compliance.

At the same time, those who are very high up in the business hierarchy, and who do hold those coveted titles, can sometimes throw a wrench into the works just because of their positions. If managers decide they need to communicate information to a superior, oftentimes more work goes into composing that memo than is really required. After all, it has to be perfect! It’s going to the top! Meanwhile, important tasks and projects get delayed and overlooked. When it comes to executive positions, there is no question that bigger titles and positions do hold clout, but there is not excuse for hard work an experience.
