It can take over your social time, your online time, and- of course- your time at work. So it can help to have a few tips handed down from those who have been there and done that for years already. Here are few tips gleaned from a variety of small business reference books that should help to make sales easier and less stressful:

  • Remember: “some will, some won’t . . . so what.” Some people buy, some don’t. Don’t take it personally, and don’t give up.
  • Know your product intimately. You should be able to recite all the ingredients of your healthful cookies from a dead stop. You should be able to recite all your credentials as a contractor without thinking. You are your product and your product is you!
  • Your product should be unlike any other. Let there be no imitators and always have something a little extra that your competitors don’t offer.
  • Between quality, service, and price, pick two. You can’t have it all or offer it all. Some customers want high quality and are willing to pay for it, others want a budget product. You cant be them all, so choose two out of three.
